Ex Gerald Patterson. [The Empire airmail rate was 1/5d per ½oz so the letter was overpaid 2d for the postage incorporated in the printed stamp]

1235 oversize cover image1939 (Feb 14; Valentine's Day) oversize cover (315x240mm) registered to NSW with 75c olive, Castles etc 3fr strip of 3, 5fr pair, 10fr single & pair and 20fr single & pair plus Ader 50fr x3 all tied by 'PARIS 35/R CAMBUN' (?) cds, Sydney arrival b/s of 24FE39, rather knocked-about but most of the stamps are sound to fine. Despite the faults, an impressive piece with an equally appealing franking. [The rate was 12fr25c for 160-180gm + airmail surcharge 7fr per 5gm x35 + 2fr registration = 259fr25c so overpaid 50c!]
