608 c image1931 (June 6) Francis Chichester autographed flight cover AAMC 184a with 'CARRIED BY AIR/FIRST FLIGHT "Lord Howe Island" TO/AUSTRALIA [signature] PILOT' h/s in violet at upper left endorsed "67", Kingsford Smith 6d violet tied by very fine 'LORD HOWE ISLAND/NSW' cds, minor aging marks on face, light envelope gum stains on reverse, Cat $650. The AAMC states "the spread of seen numbers is between 22 and 123. We believe Chichester prepared between 110 and 130 covers for this sector"; they record 54 of these having been sighted.

610 PSE image1954 (Aug 23) usage of QEII 3½d red envelope to NSW with 'LORD HOWE ISLAND/NSW' cds and Gower Wilson Memorial Hospital Appeal red & black rouletted cinderella label affixed at upper-left (not tied), a couple of minor blemishes. The Gower Wilson Memorial Hospital was built on the island in 1940, and named in honour of Gower Wilson, master of the launch 'Viking', which was lost at sea with all hands between Sydney and Lord Howe Island on or about 1.11.1936.
