1928 Melbourne International Philatelic Exhibition Kookaburra 3d blue single affixed to front page of menu for 'Dinner to Visiting Delegates' at Phair's Hotel, Melbourne on Friday 28 October 1928, pencil signature
of "John Ash" [Stamp Printer] on the face, menu & toast list printed inside, a couple of minor blemishes. The 'Tillie Mitchell' Kookaburra MS - with both "John Ash" and Exhibition Postmaster "SJ Byrnes" signatures - sold for $378.

1935 ANZAC Landing Anniversary 1/- black Perf 13½x12½ Thinner Paper ACSC 165PP(1), unmounted, Cat $2750 (£1600 for mounted; see the footnote below SG 155). Unissued: the issued stamp is Perf 11 on thick paper.
RPSofV Certificate (1998). The ACSC states this is a "plate proof". Only one sheet of 120 was printed, but only part of that sheet survived. [A similar example sold at our auction of 5.3.2015 for $1755]

1935 KGV Silver Jubilee 2d bright brownish red Trial Printing John Ash Imprint block of 4 ACSC 166zd, the upper-left unit with one pulled perf at left, very fresh unmounted, Cat $1100+. The ACSC states "There was
some experimentation with printing inks ... [which] resulted in the scarlet and bright brownish red shades, which are found only from Plates 1-4". These trials apparently took place before the development of the varieties listed to distinguish the
imprints from the respective Plates, none of which appear to be present here.

1937-49 Definitives Perf 15x14 Platypus 9d sepia marginal vertical pair from the top of the sheet with Grossly Misplaced Perforations through the Lower Unit resulting in the Upper Unit being Imperforate on Three
