 1953 QEII £1 Coombs/Wilson Commonwealth Bank Specimen Note serial 'HA00 000035', perforated 'CANCELLED', and overprinted with diagonal
cross in black on obverse and reverse, Uncirculated, McDonald Cat $60,000 (2017). Very rare.
Michael Vort-Ronald in 'Australian Specimen Banknotes' (4th Edition) records only two notes of this type sold at auction since 2009. Serial 'HA00 000013' was sold in 2012 by Spink London for £18,500 and again in 2015 by Heritage for US$41,125.
Serial 'HA00 000006' was sold in 2016 by IAG for $30,000. Five other notes are recorded held in institutions. (Image1) (Image2)
