Ex Rev James, John Boker, 'Midas' & 'Chartwell': sold for £3120. BPA Certificate (1964). A fine & attractive example of this famous error of which Shilling Violet No 16 (Sep 1989) noted the existence of a mere 15 examples (not including Peter Jaffé's unique pair), which puts it in the same class as Western Australia's 4d with the Frame Inverted. [Harry Lower's example with small thin & professionally repaired sold at the Prestige auction of 12.5.2007 for $5750. Michael Blake's very fine but poorly centred example sold at the Prestige auction of 7.2.2014 for $10,350]
