206 image 1911 Indian AU. A good candidate for type. Though beautiful and popular, St. Gaudens design for this coin is a curiosity - an Indian headdress or war bonnet is placed on a depiction of Liberty that, unlike the Quarter Eagle and Half Eagle of the same period, is a far cry from a native American. Being politically correct wasn't important in those days. (Oh, how times have changed.) (Image) (imageb)
