19 image 1839 9 over 6 Newcomb 1b Fine+. Nice example of this scarce variety w/ even brown color. There is no evidence of the obv die crack going from the rim thru stars 3 and 4 to the bridge of the nose so this must be an early die state of this issue. The overdate was caused by the 9 in the date first being struck upside-down. By far the scarcest of the five varieties of 1839 large cents. Be sure to review! (Image) (imageb)
