Lot 113 - 1873 Liberty Type 3 Closed 3 NGC MS64 (small-font low serial # holder.) From a low mintage of only 1,800 the closed 3 is clear as well as evidence of clashed dies. Surfaces are strongly proof-like. There are two light scratches in the left obv field coin but no mention of them on the NGC label..... Est. US$4,000-6,000 B Currently US$ 3,600

Our Coin & Currency Sale #36 once again features over 300 numismatic items. In addition to a wide variety of sets and type coins, there are several original rolls in this sale as well as one of the largest gold offerings we have had in a long time including an 1873 $1 Closed 3 NGC MS64, an 1859-S $2 ½, and an 1850-C $5. As is typical of our auctions, bullion, currency, and foreign gold and silver are also well represented.

The auction will begin at 1:00 PM ET on Thursday, August 8, 2024.
