Dr.
Eckerlin was director of Herbst & Illig of Frankfort-am-Main, Germany. In 1928, Dr. Eckerlin contacted Treadway of ABN for purposes of promoting a proprietary rotary intaglio printing process that was faster and cheaper than steel engraving printing.
