Scott No. E6P1; Estimate $2,000 - 3,000.

ONE OF ONLY TWO KNOWN EXAMPLES OF THE 1902 10¢ SPECIAL DELIVERY ISSUE LARGE DIE PROOF ON INDIA.

This proof was lot 80 in the H.R. Harmer sale of the Roosevelt collection in February 1946. At that time Clarence Brazer wrote the essay and proof portion of the sale and he was only aware of one other example of this proof, which was the approval copy that was featured in our Robert Markovits Collection of Special Delivery Issues (June 2016, Sale 69, Lot 1093, realized $2,200 hammer).
