Blue two-line postmark (Williams TUO-1340) and matching blue partial "Paid" and bold "10" in Circle rating handstamps on folded letter to Clarksville Tenn. datelined "Sonora April 25th 1852" from a miner writing home to his love interest who wishes him to return home, some good mining content "…I am still turning up the earth in search of the yellow ore and still to some profit…My partner and myself have insisted some friends in the purchase of claims on the Tuolumne River which I think will yield a good return and which cannot be worked before the 1st of August on account of the water…"; some edge wear, Very Fine.
