Letter is on post office business, enclosing a letter for Mrs Anne ??, re delivery of a Dead Letter in London. Also, ref to “a robbery of the whole of the Upper Canada Mail on its way from Prescott to Cornwall was perpetrated on the night of 17th February, as I think I have already informed you. I send you one of my Hand Bills that you may put it up in your office lobby. I shall prosecute the Contractor and his ?guarantors? for the penalty of their bond (£1500) and thus I hope teach a salutary lesson to all persons who undertake Mail Contracts and fail in taking proper precautions for the security of the Mails”.
