Phoenix Auctions Sale - 81

Worldwide Public Auction - June 13, 2020 (June 12 EDT)

This auction is being held on Saturday 13th June starting at 9:30am Australian Eastern Time. This is the day after our Auction 80, the fantastic O'Rourke Kangaroos Auction. It will be live on the net via our own auction systems. Just login and open the Live Bidding window. You can then bid on each lot just as if you were in the room. Bidding is also available via Stamp Auction Network's Live Auction Bidding. Please contact us if you have any queries.


Session 1 (lots 501-986) starts at 9:30am local (19:30 June 12 EDT) and contains general collections, literature PPCs and Australian Commonwealth. There are very few Roo lots in this Auction, but plenty of everything else.
Session 2 (lots 987-1319) starts no earlier than 12:30pm local (22:30 June 12 EDT). It contains Australian Colonies, including Hugh Freeman NSW & Victorian numerals and some very fine advertising covers, and Territories.
Session 3 (lots 1320-1561) starts no earlier than 3:00pm local (01:00 June 13 EDT). It contains the Rest of the World, and includes our front cover item, lot 1343 1d Captain Cook with Inverted Centre on cover

The COVID-19 restrictions have eased slightly. Now we can have limited room bidders. If you feel that you need to attend please apply to be a room bidder, do NOT just turn up on the day unannounced. You can still pick up on the day.

With limited room bidders, we have organised ourselves to cater for more phone bidders, but we do encourage everyone to use our website as much as possible as that will provide you with best information about each lot and your bids.

We are continuing to place more images of each lot on the website to help reduce the need to doing viewing. Please call us if you need additional information.

As with Auction 79 we have changed the order of the lots in the auction. In the past we had a morning session for the collections, boxes etc and the afternoon for better single items or sets. This organisation worked well when we had room bidders as many were just interested in one or the other session and they didn’t have to hang around. However for the foreseeable future we are merging both styles into one combined auction with all the lots associated with one country being together. We think this will make it easier for everybody.
