Phoenix Auctions Sale - 2182

Worldwide On-Line Auction - October 14-15, 2024

Welcome to Phoenix Auctions #2182, being held on Monday & Tuesday 14th & 15th October, both days starting at 10am. This will be our 132th auction for 2024.
Session 1 (lots 5001-6561) Monday with Australia through to South Australia.
Session 2 (lots 6562-8505) Tuesday with Tasmania, Victoria, WA and Territories and then Rest of World.

The Australian section has many variety lots, particularly in the Roos and KGV Sideface issues. There is a significant selection of mint Australian decimals in our Decimal Postage section. We have our usual range of Postal History, FDCs, Coins, Revenues, etc, and, of course, many, many postmarks. There is a particularly fine selection of Western Australian revenues (lots 7543-7569).

Rest of World collectors are always well catered for. There are well over 800 lots in this section and the General & Single Country sections of the auction. There is a good selection of Foreign & British Commonwealth, with considerable strength in Great Britain, including better single items, with many pre-1970 mint & used sets. With a wide variety of countries and many lots of varieties, Postal History, Stationery, etc, there is plenty to choose from. Of particular note is the large group of 1950s inwards covers to Tibet (lots 7956-7980). Notes:

  • Most collection & accumulation type lots with a reserve of 50% of the estimate.
  • The buyer's commission is just 16½%.
  • New bidders need to be aware that, while there is no room bidding for these auctions, viewing, phone bidding and live internet bidding are still available. Lastly live bidding will skip over lots without any form of bid, so please enter some sort of bid, even if it is just $1, to ensure that these lots appear during live bidding. We hope you find its wide range of lots useful and interesting.
  • Viewing is available 10am-4pm from Sunday 6th to Sunday 13th October (There is no Saturday viewing). Our address is Suite 2, Level 1, 441 Canterbury Rd, Surrey Hills, 3127. Call us if earlier viewing is required and call or email us if you need more information about a lot.
  • Auction 2182 is an on-line auction and will be live on the net via our own auction systems. Just login as usual and then open the Live Bidding window, the link is active from 20 minutes before the start of the auction. Live Bidding gives you the ability to bid on each lot just as if you were in the room. We also have phone bidding available.
