1941 WWII OAS air cover to Auckland, NZ franked Australia 9d Platypus, canc good-fine complete "A.I.F FIELD P.O/No. 14" cds 1 AU 41, with square "BASE UNIT CENSOR/207" censor h/s (violet) with signature. Used at Haifa, Palestine, July-Nov 1941 by
Australian 1st Army Corps (which left 30 Jan 1942 to return to Australia & service in the Pacific theatre). Light creasing, repaired flap tears. Scarce item.

1946-7 ½d-5/- "B.C.O.F. JAPAN 1946" ovpts set of 7, on reg'd O.A.S. cover addressed to NZ soldier in NZ (but no receipt b/s), Unusually canc "R.N.Z.A.F. 333 N.Z.A.P.O." cds 11 FEB 48 (2 strikes). NZ regn label with "NZAPO 333" h/s. At this time,
NZ APO 333 was at Bofu airfield, having moved from Iwakuni 2 days previously (both locations near Hiroshima). RAAF APO 30 was also at Iwakuni. So this cover may have been cancelled by favour & handed back over the counter. Exceptional (philatelic)
use of NZ Forces cancel on Australian stamps. SG J1-7. Cat £275 (for the stamps alone). Minor toning incl stamps.
