Used from Gisborne 8 July 1916 (cds on 1d Dominion Official) to Tiniroto (receipt cds 10 JL 16), instructing addressee to report for service. Poor cond (soiled & creased) but a scarce survivor.

750 C 1940-45 WWII mail to NZ ex NZEF in North Africa & Italy. Good range of 8 censored OAS covers (incl 6 by air & 1 early aerogramme), franked Egyptian or NZ stamps, or stampless (2). All canc, NZ F.P.O. cds (noted F.P.O. x 4, K.W. 1,2,3,5). Very good to fine condition (much better than usual for such mail).

751 C 1940-4 WWII censored covers x 9 ex GB to NZ, all addressed to Dr Rudolf Proskauer, dental surgeon, Gisborne (or his wife). The addressees were German & their mail (even from within NZ) was intercepted & censored throughout the war. With various censor h/s on censor resealing strips & separate examiners' code letters or numbers on back. Good to fine cond.

754 C 1943 WWII printed stampless "Church Army / NPFB" OAS cover ex Maadi Camp, Egypt (MPO / KW2 cds 18 AUG), to RNZAFR airman at Rotorua, NZ. B/s 2 fine Rotorua Air Force cds 4 OC 43. Readdressed with "TAEIRI" h/s (misspelt - should be "TAIERI") (for Taieri Air Force: b/s fine cds 12 OC 43). Then sent to his home address in Napier (cds 16 OC 43). From there, redirected to Brandon, Manitoba, Canada (2 Canadian MPO d/s 27 NOV 43). Presumably reached him there! Some edge wear but good.

756 C 1944 WWII air cover to NZ serviceman c/- NZ Army Base PO, London, franked 5d Swordfish canc Napier cds 9 MR 44. Address heavily crossed out (blue pencil lines). Boxed h/s "Return to sender on Air Department instructions", h/s "It is regretted that the addressee is reported as missing .... NZABPO" (& m/s "believe killed"). Further PO label on back & NZ "D.D.A.67" censor resealing strip. Still with original typed letter (from NZ airman colleague).

759 C c1945 WWII stampless OAS cover ex Solomon Islds to NZ. No despatch cds, but with light boxed RNZAF censor h/s (blue) & censor's signature. Sender's details on flap incl "RNZAF 5.5.U., N.Z. A.P.O. 248". NZ APO 348 was at Green Isl Oct 1944-July 1945, then at Jacquinot Bay till Nov 1945. Fine.

760 C 1946 NZ Occupation Forces in Japan ½d - 1/- Peace set of 11 on plain cover (long), Japan to NZ, canc 5 strikes (4 fine) of "R.N.Z.A.F. / N.Z.A.P.O. / 333" cds 1 AP 46. Cds used at Iwakuri (RNZAF station. Addressed to NZ. The new stamps were specially flown to Japan by the NZPO. Central vert fold, otherwise fine. Very scarce (legitimate) use of Peace stamps outside NZ. Ex Startup (with his write-up).
