21 *      imageSan Francisco, CA Advertised covers, 1870-1880s, lot of 14 covers. A couple of foreign items destined to San Francisco with postage due stamps on backside also has a rectangular "ADVERTISED" on front w/ a US CHARGE TO COLLECT marking on front. Other covers have marks such as "UNCLAIMED" and "FORWARDED." Another item has cancellation from Oakland to SF and "UNCLAIMED" and other related strikes on front plus on backside a 2-line "GENERAL DELIVERY JUN 14 1899 P.M." Strong strikes and nice variety - should be viewed, some faults, F.-V.F. group.
