226 *      imagePhiladelphia, Pennsylvania Advertised covers, 1860s-1906, group of 20 covers. Most items are dated in late 1800s but did note a 1906 "DUE 6" item from Leeds noted with US postage dues along w/ triangular strike among others on back. Other key items are a better marking such as a two-line "Not called for No such person can be found" on the back, a number of "Unclaimed" or "Not Found" marks on front in addition to a variety of "Held" or "Unclaimed" strikes - on back an item includes a strike on the back "DEAD PHIL. POST OFFICE, Aug 12 1876." Another with an oval in red "ADVERTISED PHILADELPHIA, 5 JUL 1887" and a purple rectangular strike on front "MINOR LETTER, DEAD LETTER OFFICE" A nice clear oval "ADVERTISED PILA. POST OFFICE DEC 7 1864" that ties stamp on cover. Also a strong purple five-line strike on front "ADVERTISED, OCT 24 1902, Passyunk Station, PHILADELPHIA, PA, UNCLAIMED."; some faults, F.-V.F. group.
