Just Collecting Stamp Rarities Auction - March 30, 2021

Just Collecting is hosting its largest ever stamp rarities auction this month with over 300 lots and total estimates well in excess of £0.5 million. The sale is very strong in key British stamp rarities, but also includes some key stamps from the British Commonwealth (especially India) and China. The end of the sale includes a range of colections with very low reserves, where bargains are sure to be had. Some highlights in the sale include:
  • A stunning mint block of four, with original gum, of the 1840 penny black, plate 2, with exceptional provenance and accompanied with a British Philatelic Association certificate of authenticity, estimated at £75,000
  • A set of 9 classic 1897 Dowager Empress stamps from the Chinese Empire, all in mint condition, with original gum, and in blocks of four, estimated at £12,500
  • A very fine and fresh unused example, with original gum, of Britain's most famous error of colour, The 1935 2½d Prussian Blue, estimated at £4,000
  • 10 entire sheets of 120 stamps from the Indian Feudatory State of Jaipur all, remarkably, in unmounted mint condition with an estimate of £1,500
