1366   imageJapan, 1954/2013, exceptional mostly mint collection in two large Scott Specialty albums, 1954–1988 estimated 95% complete, 1989–2008 about 95% complete, 2008–2013 about 90% complete on Scott pages with additional Prefecture series (1989–2000) about 95% complete on Scott pages, nearly all housed in black mounts with a very high percentage never hinged, many issues present in both mint form—often in souvenir sheet or mini-sheet format—and used examples, also including a further album of 30 double-sided Vario pages extending material through 2013–2019, with dozens of souvenir sheets, semi-postal sheetlets, booklets, and over 100 full sheets in mounts in addition to the album pages, albums carry a mild tobacco smell but this remains a remarkable accumulation with very high catalogue and face value, overall mostly very fine and an excellent opportunity for the Japan collector to start or expand a comprehensive holding.
