1306 nh/og/O 1/611 imageGreat Britain, 1840/1970, mint and used collection, neatly arranged in hingeless mounts on album pages and spanning from the classic period to 1970, beginning with a presentable used Penny Black with three margins and a used Two Penny Blue, continuing with a good run of Queen Victoria issues largely used and including better high values such as Sc. #96 (£1) and 108 (5sh), through the KEVII and KGV periods with a mix of mint and used including Sc. #142 (£1 KEVII) and a mint 1865 1sh Victoria (#48, hinged with toning mentioned for accuracy), then from 1913 onward predominantly mint with many complete or near-complete sets, some never hinged, with highlights such as the 1934 Seahorses set mint and QEII phosphorescent issues in never hinged condition, minor faults noted among earlier classics though overall fine to very fine with many attractive examples, a clean and valuable collection with owner’s 2024 Scott catalogue value of $24,670. 1307 og/O   imageGreat Britain, 1840/1970s, mostly used collection, neatly mounted in a Davo album, beginning with a fine four-margin Penny Black, the Victorian era somewhat sparse though including some useful Surface Printed issues with a couple wing-margin examples noted, the 1887–1892 Jubilee issues complete though of mixed quality, the 1902–1911 King Edward VII series complete to 2s6d, quite well-filled from King George V to 1970 with selections of Seahorses and Regional Issues, Guernsey with World War II Occupation issues, back of the book including Postage Dues with a high degree of completion, range of Officials including I.R. Official, Army Official, Admiralty and Board of Education, some with dubious overprints, condition mixed as typically found particularly among nineteenth-century issues, but overall fresh and fine, nicely presented and a useful nucleus to expand into a specialised collection.
