110 211-216DP image1935, 1c to 13c King George V Silver Jubilee, set of six large die proofs, 76 to 88mm x 76 to 83mm, die sunk on full-size cards, the 1c, 2c, and 5c in vertical format, the balance horizontal, printed in colours mostly approaching those of issue, the 13c in a striking deep violet, each with die number and "CANADIAN BANK NOTE CO LTD" imprint, and "wrong colour" written in pencil on front or back of card, accompanied by a black & white photograph of the portraits of King George V and Queen Mary used for the 3c denomination, pencil notation on reverse "Sydney F. Smith O-828", Smith having engraved the portraits of the 2c. and 3c, and photograph of Windsor Castle used for the 10c, noted "Joseph Keller O-840" on reverse, who engraved the central vignette, the 1c and 2c with trivial stain at upper right of card, a beautiful set, of which only a small number are recorded, rare and very fine.
