1123 nh/og/CVR   image1930/1931, Maritime & Newfoundland Airways cinderellas, an interesting group comprising 14 labels and 8 covers from the proposed mail transport scheme linking the Maritimes, Newfoundland and St. Pierre & Miquelon, the labels prepared in a variety of designs and paper colours and typically affixed to the reverse of covers, the fronts struck with black or purple first flight handstamps, when the Canadian government denied permission for the service the company added an explanation of the situation and returned the covers to senders, a fascinating episode of aerophilatelic history with scope for further research into label designs, varieties and different covers, these being listed in the American Airmail Catalogue, Canada and Newfoundland, 2nd edition, clean and overall very fine.
