1989 O/og/nh Russia imageRussia Collection of Mint and Used in a Scott Specialty Album, 1858-1958, with a high degree of completion throughout, with the exception of the first and few early pages, as well as the post-1957 period. The collection is comprised of complete sets, souvenir sheets, back of the book, etc., used stamps have light cancels and mint stamps are either in mounts and never hinged (with some exceptions) or lightly hinged on the album pages. We note a Scott #1325 souvenir sheet with postmark ($300) which had adhered to the page (could be soaked off), Scott #551-554 ($407 with the only heavy hinge we noticed) and Ukraine Russian Company of Navigation and Trade issues (not included in the owner's cv), #C75a (never hinged, cv for hinged is $175). In addition there are about 500 duplicates (often used blocks) with a significant catalogue value which were not counted in the total 2017 Scott catalogue value. A consistently fresh and high quality collection, with a range of Scott #s 6/2160. Online scans only show a small sample. 1990 O Scandinavia imageScandinavia Advanced Collection in Scott Specialty Albums to 1971, with Denmark, Sweden and Norway being the most developed and all starting strongly from the very first page. Iceland and Finland are also well represented, with Greenland and the Danish West Indies showing only a few stamps each. Sweden postage due and official stamps are close to complete. Finland includes a small study on Russian stamps used in Finland and minor varieties of the Russian design stamps of Finland. Except for Finland and Greenland years 1940 to 1971 have a very high degree of completion. We catalogued Denmark to 1927 ($3,507), Norway to 1925 ($2,350) and Sweden to 1930, including back of the book, ($3,366) for a conservative total of $9,623. An old-time mint and used collection and accumulation of stamps from all these territories on album and stock pages to about 1955, with one stock page of later issues. Noted pages of used blocks of 4 to the 5sh, MNH blocks from 6 to 12 stamps of the small format wartime issue, MH pairs of B1-11, Not to be overlooked are the many pages of the former states. Cape of Good Hope has 4 triangles among many other items, Transvaal, Natal and Orange River also are well populated. 2000 og/nh Spain and Portugal imageSpain and Portugal Mint Collection in a Stockbook, the Spain collection goes from 1930 to about 1972 and is neatly laid out in a stockbook with very little duplication. It includes a few souvenir sheets and some back-of-the-book issues. The Spanish Colonies collection covers more or less the same period whereas the Portugal component is comprised of 26 souvenir MNH sheets from 1978 to 1990.
