1302 CVR   image1937 S.S. Distributor Post Office First Day and First Flight Covers, both cancelled with a JUL.21.1937 c.d.s. This was the first day of use of this postmark, which was only used until AUG.14 of that year. Both covers are also signed by the pilot, A. McMullen and R.W. Hale, the Postal Superintendent. One is additionally signed by three postmasters and has a "Hudson Bay Company / JUL.21.1937 / S.S. Distributor / Mackenzie River / Transport" oval handstamp in purple. Both are backstamped Aklavik AUG.1 and Edmonton AUG.7. Two scarce and very fine items. (Scan 2) (All Scans)
