1126 CVR   imageLEEDS a fine (90%) despatch strike B 3 / 10 DE / 79 on an illustrated wrapper mailed to Seeds, with an Chapel-Alberton same day receiver on back. Quite a lovely illustration of a Typesetter at work, with several faults, including a crease on the ½d rose QV stamp (Plate 13), still a desirable item. All 1879 GB squared circle strikes are rare and as the Handbook says "are quite coveted by collectors, these being only possible to find in three offices: Leeds, Liverpool and London E.C.". 1128 CVR   imageLISCARD / CHESCHIRE a very fine despatch strike A 5 / MR 2 / 92 on a 2d stationery cover to Charleston, South Carolina, with March 11 receiver on back. In the Handbook this was assigned rarity factor 475 and was recorded used for only 4 months. In the 1st Supplement, a new late date was reported, which extended the use to 13 months, and this date still remains a new and unrecorded earliest known date. 1129 PC   imageLIVERPOOL & LONDON / T.P.O. three strikes NO 2 / 82 on an uprated stationery card mailed to Vienna Austria, with same day Leopoldstat / Wien receiver on front. Accompanied by a 1985 letter from Stanley Cohen written to the previous owner explaining that of the three known "postally used examples" these are by far the clearest strikes, the others being faint.
