Postal History, Canada continued...

Nova Scotia continued...
LotNo. Symbol Cat No. Lot Description
917 CVR   image1861 Nova Scotia to Newfoundland rate Cover, mailed at the scarce 13½c rate (1c and 12½c, both tied by oval grids) from Wallace NS on JAN.22.1861, went through Halifax on JAN.23, and arrived Harbour Grace on JAN.2? (difficult to read, on front). Interestingly there is a postmark on back dated JUN.2? (6 months later, or month error) which we cannot read the provenance. Opening faults, faults on the stamps, still a rare and short lived rate, and the first we have handled. (Scan a) (Scan b) (All Scans)
