312 nh 65S-76S image1933 ½d to £1 Set Perforated SPECIMEN, the full iconic King George V set for the Centenary of British Administration. All are fresh mint and never hinged, with no trace of blemishes nor toning on the gum. Overall very fine centering (a few are fine-very fine). Archive records indicate 473 sets were perforated SPECIMEN, very few of which are in private hands, making these much scarcer than the regular set. Scott Classic catalogue value is for a set of hinged SPECIMEN overprints only. S.G. catalogue value of £4,250 is for a hinged perforated set. (Scan a) (Scan b) (All Scans)

313 nh 84S/96S image1937-38 ½d to £1 First Printing Set of 13 Perforated SPECIMEN. All are fresh, mint never hinged and except for the 6d (small light discoloration on gum) are without blemishes or toning on gum. Most are very fine centered but four values, including the £1 are fine only. All are first printings (with a £39 premium for the 6d and 1sh) except possibly the 5sh which appears to be a second printing (1938) with slightly lighter gum. If this is correct, the shade merits a premium of £950. The full set of 16 perforated SPECIMEN has a Scott Specialized value of $2,500 plus 40% for never hinged. A bonus in this lot is #58 line perforated 14 x 13.7 (with mark on King's neck). (Scan a) (Scan b) (All Scans)

327 O 5 image1847 1sh green Queen Victoria Embossed Imperforate, Die 2, Unwatermarked, a lovely used block of four, with 1844-type numeral cancels and ample to close margins, bright colour on fresh paper, very fine. Deep embossing and two vertical silk threads through each stamp. Accompanied by a 2017 BPA certificate stating "creases and small split at top of stamp 2, small natural exclusion at foot".
