407 Cover image20L4, Boyd's City Express Post, 1845 2c Black on green (Fourth Issue),, large margins, surface faults, cancelled by red "Free" and tied by vertical file fold to June 24, 1845 folded letter from New York City to Troy, New York, endorsed "p. Hall + Co. Ex Mess" and with red boxed "Collect Six Cents for Hale & Co." handstamp, probably handed over to Brainard's in Albany for ultimate delivery, despite stamp faults still a very fine and attractive cover, this is the latest known Boyd's conjunctive use as the independent mails were discontinued just six days later by order of the US Post Office (Image 1)
