H.R. Harmer GPN, Inc. Sale - 3055

The "Erivan" Collection of United and Confederate States Part VI - January 26, 2022

We’ve now crossed the halfway mark of the planned 10 sales of the “Erivan” Collection of United and Confederate States Postal History, and as always this sale brings to market many philatelic gems which have not been seen in a number of years. With particular strength in fancy cancels, patriotic covers, western expresses, and Confederate States general issues, we’d like to highlight just a few individual lots:
  • The Tiffany discovery copy of the Alexandria, Virginia postmaster provisional on cover front (Lot 1)
  • The sole example of the green New Orleans City Despatch Post local on cover (Lot 26)
  • The unique Pony Express cover addressed to Abraham Lincoln in Springfield, Illinois (Lot 35)
  • The only recorded pair of the Pleasant Shade provisional on cover (Lot 118)
