The David Spivack FRPSL Admiral Collection - Part 1 - July 6, 2022

Of the nineteen Admiral duties in the series, the focus of this sale and Part 2 to come later this year, is on the fifteen bi-colour duties. Their complexity is highlighted by the number of plates, dies, and printings deployed by the printer, Waterlow and Sons. For example, there was a range of eight to 27 printings per each duty. These printings are comprehensively represented in these sales. The earliest pre-stamp letter known in private hands.

These sales are arranged by duty noting the Admiral Handbook’s reference numbers to facilitate identification and better appreciate the challenging and rewarding aspects of the BSAC Admiral stamps. In addition to the excellent representation of the dies and printings there is an abundance of rarities and multiples to peruse.
