1863 Ostrander (Kent
County) Manuscript Postmark, franked with five 1c First Cents issues, cancelled by manuscript pen with "x Ostrander Po x" on the stamps, and "June 20th 63" just under the stamps. The cover is addressed to the United States and there are two
backstamps, one a partial G.W.R. datestamp and the other a partial Thamesville transit. The Ostrander post office never had postmarking devices, as it was only open from 1863 to 1866 and even moved around during that short period. Cover has foxing
and other faults, such as a removed backflap, still the only cover known originating from this small and short-lived post office.
