62 CVR   image1868 Botany (C.W.) Registered Cover to Toronto, mailed on MAR.14.1868 (postmark enhanced, still the only recorded use of this postmark) to Toronto, with registration and postage paid in cash, as this small post office probably had no stamps (open from 1865 to 1900, with very little income). A rare postmark on a very fine cover.

Double Circle on folded Cover to Halifax, mailed on JUL.31.1826 (very fine strike of this double circle in black, Jephcott 45, MacDonald 46), rated manuscript 9 (+1d local delivery fee = 10). A very fine strike of this scarce postmark, ex "Dubois" (Siegel, lot 2233, where it was described as "wonderful strike") and "Maritimus".

64 CVR   image1829 Niagara U.C on Incoming Folded Ship Letter to Cornwall, a long personal letter mailed from Inverness, Scotland on JUN.19.1829 (datestamp in black on front) to Cornwall, Upper Canada. Travelled from Liverpool to New York on the Blue Swallowtail line "York" (June 24 to Aug 8). Received a rare (first we have seen) boxed "American Postage / Ferriage / Forwarded" handstamp (with rates next to these), arrived Niagara on AUG.22.1829, then presumably onto Cornwall. Several interesting rate markings, a very fine example of early Trans-Atlantic mail.

65 CVR   image1831 and 1839 Chatham L.C. Double Circle Folded Letters, first was mailed on FEB.12.1831 (in black, the ERD) on folded letter to Québec City. Second was mailed on MAY.19.1839 (in red, the LRD) on a folded letter (Datelined "Regeau") to Bytown. Both very fine strikes.

Double Circle on Folded Cover to Toronto, mailed on NOV.17.1836 (very fine LRD strike of this italic double circle in black), a lovely example of this rare postmark (known used for only 4 years), the Yarmouth post office (Elgin county) was only open from 1830 to 1837. Ex Dr. Robert C. Smith and accompanied by his write-up.

70 CVR   image1837, 1842 Two Adelaide U.C Double Circle Postmarks, first was mailed FEB.12.1837 (very fine strike in blue) on money letter to Queenston, second was mailed on JUL.31.1842 (very fine strike in deep red) on folded cover to Toronto. Both very fine.

71 CVR   image1837 Montréal Folded Letter to London, England, mailed on AUG.12.1837 (double-circle in red) to London, endorsed "via New York p. packet 16th Aug." with two different SEP.8 receivers (in red) and a boxed "Liverpool Ship Letter" in black. There are many rate and accountancy notes, including two red 'PAID" handstamps, a red "G.P." handstamp, manuscript notes include "single sheet only" (even thought the long letter inside is 8 pages long), "paid to New York", "4½", "18/4" and more. 74 CVR   image1840 Yonge U.C Double Circle on Folded Letter to Toronto, mailed on APR.8.1840 (very fine LRD strike of the double circle in black, year is included in the dateline inside) to John Dunn in Toronto. This is the only instrument ever used at the Yonge post office (closed in 1854), and is recorded used for 5 years only, this being the latest recorded date. Very fine.

80 CVR   image1852 Saint Francis L.C. Money Letter to Montréal, mailed on APR.21.1852 (nice strike of the double circle in bright red), with two indistinct datestamps on back. The folded cover is rated "3" alongside a "PAID" handstamp in red, and shows a manuscript "Money" and "MONEY LETTER" handstamp in red. Tears on back, still a fine cover.
