681 CVR   imageAccumulation of India Refugee Relief Fund Covers, 1971-1973, with well over 100 covers, all appear to have been mailed in period and with at least one overprinted or issued stamp. We noted destinations (Canada, United States and England) with the majority of domestic items being sent to New Delhi. There appears to be a good variety of Relief overprints (machines, handstamps and a good potential for varieties). There are also many interesting handstamps such as "RRT Exempted", "Unit Censor", some registered covers, government envelopes, F.P.O. handstamps, interesting frankings / rates and much more. Several of the covers are described on pages, and there is a folder with articles and information on this interesting time period. Some faults here and there, still overall fine to very fine. See our pictures for an overview and sampling. (Scan 1) (Scan 2) (Scan 3) (Scan 4) (Scan 5) (Scan 6) (Scan 7) (Scan 8) (Scan 9) (Scan 10) (Scan 11) (All Scans) (All Images)

682 CVR/PC TPO imageCollection of Queen Victoria-Era Travelling Post Office (TPO) Covers, with 37 covers (incl. a few cards), majority are described on pages. We note a good variety of postmarks such as "T.P.O. Mail Agent", various "R.M.S.", "L" in bars, "K" in bars, "A" in bars, "T" in bars, "A-20" in bars, "Mail Agent", "Mail Office", boxed "Train Late", an "S.M.R." in bars (apparently an error for R.M.S.) and many others. We counted 8 registered covers, one cover was mailed at the soldiers' rate to England (1885), a few are addressed overseas, including the United States (x2), England (x3). The usual opening faults can be found, still overall a fine or better collection. Our photos show only a small portion. 695 CVR TPO imageAdvanced Collection of Travelling Post Office Postmarks on Cover, 1867 to 1898, with 48 covers mounted on pages, with owner's descriptions of the postmarks. The collection starts with a 3-page introduction (history of the service), followed by a wide variety of T.P.O. postmarks, with very little duplication. The variety, being impressive, is added to by the vast amount of other postmarks (instructional, despatch, transit and receiving towns, etc) as well as frankings and rates. Many of the T.P.O. postmarks are better, but there are too many to list here, and we prefer showing them by image. Quality ranges from mostly fine to very fine, to roughly opened. We have shown only a portion of the collection, and only one side of those covers, but feel free to ask should you require additional photos. A great opportunity for the specialist, which comes with the book "Indian Travelling Post Offices 1864-1891" by D.R. Martin.
