653   imageRemainder Lot of the Hong Kong Treaty Port Collection, starts with the owner's seven detailed introduction pages which include three picture postcards (monument of Sir Harry in Shanghai, the British Consulate in Shanghai, and the Chefoo Harbour), as well as some illustrations and two Foochow Local Post stamps. The second part consists of 7 pages pertaining to the CHINA overprinted Hong Kong stamps and their postmarks, with three pages containing 51 stamps and a stationery cut-out, all sorted by their various postmarks, all neatly described by the owner. Also includes a cover mailed in 1918 from Shanghai to Australia (tear) and 4 private perfin stamps "HSBC" from Canton and Amoy (two of each watermark). A useful lot for the enthusiast, all pages scanned online. Written-up in great detail on 4 pages, including three hand-drawn maps showing the route (down from India to South Africa and back up to Europe), assuming this was the route taken, based on the long time it took. 656 CVR   image1857 4a Queen Victoria Imperforate on Cover to Ireland, a lovely small cover which appears to have been mailed from "Frenchrouts" (?) on JUL.4.1857 (boxed handstamp on back), through Madras JUL.7.1857 (backstamp) to Dublin, Ireland, endorsed "via Southampton" with a red "PAID" handstamp dated AUG.22.1857 on front and AUG.23 English receiver on back. The cover is franked with a 4a blue and red Queen Victoria imperforate (Head Die III, Frame Die II, cut to shape, with margins well clear of frameline all around), canceled and tied by a "C/13" in a dotted diamond cancel (in blue, scarce thus) and a crescent-shaped "INDIA PAID" handstamp in red. The accompanying write-up describes the part of the trip where the cover was transported by camel from Suez to Cairo, then train to Alexandria. Very fine in all aspects.
