Postcard Possibly Written On Board the Empress of Russia in Hong Kong, picture side shows “Shameen / The European Settlement in Canton” and is franked with a 4c carmine KGV Hong Kong stamp tied by a Hong Kong MAR.18.1916 c.d.s. The message side
is filled with a long message and no address. It might have been privately delivered, or mailed under cover. It is datelined “17 Mar 1916” and is docketed “Received 19/4/1916” (more than a month later). The message was written by “Captain” who
describes a person he met on the Empress of Russia to that person's sister. Crease ending in a tear, else interesting. (Scan 1)
