Chatham, Upper Canada via Liverpool (large SHIP LETTER / LIVERPOOL datestamp plus octagonal datestamp) and New York (APR.17 “SHIP” datestamp in red) and Queenston (APR.21.18 transit on front), very fine. Mounted on a well written-up page explaining
the complicated “6% Exchange Surcharge” scheme, which lasted only from MAR.1.1842 to MAY.16.1842. (Scan 1)
