Straightline Cancel on Trans-Atlantic Folded Cover, a pre-printed cover apparently mailed from the Customs House in London, England, addressed to "His Excellency The Governor or Commander in Chief, New Brunswick" and rated "1N6" manuscript, with
"ST ANDREWS / NEW BRUNSWICK" 2-line handstamp and "8 Apr 1828" manuscript date between the lines.

(U.C.) Manuscript Precursor Postmark on Folded Letter, applied to the folded letter by Postmaster A.R. Smith, addressed to Montréal, with a notation on back attesting it was received there on NOV.17, rated "1sh4d" manuscript. This rare postmark
(only three examples are recorded) is recorded used between OCT.31.1828 and MAY.7.1829. Ex Cloutier exhibit.

Folded Cover to Fredericton N.B. mailed on DEC.17.1830 (large circle in red) to Fredericton N.B. (APR.5.1831 large broken circle receiver on front) through Québec City (DEC.28.1830 Fleuron-type transit) where a "FORWARDED" handstamp was applied.
A manuscript "Refused" notation was applied upon arrival (a trip which took almost 4 months). A lovely and very fine folded cover.

Two York UP-CAN Large
Circle Postmarks, first is a folded letter mailed from London, England on AUG.22.1830 (dateline inside and despatch c.d.s. on back) to Amherstburg, through Halifax (SEP.23 fleuron), Québec (SEP.27 fleuron), and York Up-Can (Oct.6 large circle),
with two different boxed "FORWARDED" handstamps in red (one applied in Amhersturg and one in York). Second is a folded cover mailed from York on SEP.2.1830 (docketing on back provides year) to Montréal. Both are very fine.

from Bristol to Québec City, mailed JUL.18.1831 (datelined inside, plus docketing on front) to Québec (SEP.10.1821 1829-type in red) alongside a fine small oval crowned Ship Letter / Quebec handstamp, also in red. The letter is endorsed "per
William". Tape repairs inside, still a fine example of these scarce postmarks.

front. The letter inside is datelined "Paisley, 2 Sept 1831". A fine duo.

letter inside. Second was mailed from Glasgow, Scotland on JUN.1.1836 (neat backstamp) to Québec City, with a Halifax small c.d.s. dated AUG.1.1836, very fine.

Broadsheet Announcing the Sailing of the Ship “Credo” from Dublin to Quebec City, originally printed to say it departed on April 21st, 1838, corrected by pen to the 24th. It describes that this is a fast ship that can accommodate passengers and
goods, having lots of “good water and fuel” and much more. A rarely seen item, especially from this era, would look great in a Trans-Atlantic postal history collection.

(U.C.) "Steamboat" Straightline on Folded Letter, mailed on MAY.27.1839 using the first type of Hamilton c.d.s. (with lettering very close to rim, this being one of only two recorded strikes in black as the rest are red). Interestingly, the only
other example in black is also on a cover with the rare STEAMBOAT postmark. Addressed to Kingston, with manuscript "Paid", "PAID" handstamp in black and rated 11d manuscript in red.
