342 CVR   image1832 Prince Edward Island Tender for Mails Folded Letter, datelined “Tyron River October 1st 1832” and addressed to the Colonial Secretary in Charlottetown detailing a proposal for the collection of mails between Cape Tormenting and Cape Traverse, and on to Charlottetown, to include “the use of ice boats should a heavy fall of snow occur, across the straights,” etc. A remarkable and rare document in very fine condition, accompanied by a transcript of the two page letter inside.

On the morning of 6 December 1917, the French cargo ship SS Mont-Blanc collided with the Norwegian vessel SS Imo in the Halifax, Nova Scotia harbour. The Mont-Blanc, laden with high explosives, caught fire and detonated, devastating the Richmond district of Halifax.
