1898 (Dec.17) Toronto
Bickerdike Flag "F8(A)" with Inverted Obliterator, a 2c Map + 1c Numeral cover mailed on DEC.17.1898 (with inverted obliterator) to Port Hope (next day squared circle receiver). Not only was this cover mailed with a 2c Map stamp 8 days before its
official first day of issue (DEC.25), but the inverted obliterator is described by Larry Paige in his exhibit as "Only the date Dec.17, 1899 is recorded with two examples on record. Example shown [the one offered here] is the only one of two reported
that the indicia is idenfifyable. The indicia "A", as shown, is the only reported Toronto invert". A very rare flag postmark (both the Lingard and Heasman exhibits did not have one) and a must have for the serious enthusiast. Ex Larry R. Paige.

with 2c Numeral issues, with all fully legible and complete impressions. These are the first flag cancels in Canada to have any kind of advertisement. (Scan 1)
