1537 imagePortugal 1898 Postage * 4th Centenary of the Discovery of the Sea Route to India. Envelope circulated in Lisbon (11.05.98), with a red 5 réis stamp, MF149 to pay the first internal postage of a printed material weighing up to 50g. As it was circulated closed, the envelope was considered a letter and postaged at double the missing postage of 20 réis, with two orange 20 réis stamps, dotted paper, 12 ¼ perforation, MF POR3, in accordance with the postage tables and other regulations of the Charter of Law of 12.07.1880, in force as of 15.10.1880. Very rare copy, well preserved, with no defects or repairs.(Image 1) (Image 2)
