Port. India 1952 cover from Velha-Goa to Calcutta franked with the entire St. Francis issue: 6 reis (CE
426), 2 tangas (CE 427) and 5 tangas (CE 428). All stamps tied by a scarce “Velha- Goa” CDS. The stamps are mounted on a souvenir St. Francis envelope in green. “Park Street - Calcutta” arrival CDS on the back. Inside the envelope are two items. A
newspaper clipping from “The Sunday Statesman” newspaper of Calcutta, dated December 7th, 1952, describing the festivities of St. Francis in Goa called “Colourful Ceremonies on Goa”. Also included is a small card depicting St. Francis surrounded by
admirers with text in French. A very interesting group from the 1952 St. Francis Xavier Exposition.(Image 1)

10 escudos on 3 rupias “map” issue (CE 488) with an INVERTED OVERPRINT. The exhibition postmark, tying the stamp, is dated “-5.11.60”. An attractive cachet on the right. Very unusual. Tear top and back flap.(Image 1)

Port. India 1960 English edition of the Goan newspaper “Heraldo” posted airmail from Goa to Rome,
franked on the wrapper with 2 coin stamps: 60 centavos (CE 511) and 2 escudos (CE 515). The wrapper has been removed and the newspaper has been opened out. Contents involve colonial events. The newspaper is dated September 19th, 1960 and the “Goa”
CDS tying the stamps is dated “20.9.60”. The newspaper and the wrapper together are very scarce.(Image 1)

Port. India 1962 commercial airmail cover from Ponda Goa to Twickenham England, franked on the back
with 5 Union of India “map” stamps: a single 10 np and four 20 np issues. All the stamps are tied by a “Ponda” double circle CDS dated “25 AUG 62”. Portuguese India was annexed the previous year and this is an example of the new Goan postmarks. Note
the commercial envelope still states “Portuguese India” on the back.(Image 1)
