Set of 296 stamps from Angola, São Tomé, and Guinea, postage and postage stamps, affixed to five sheets, with some repetition, all with the "SPECIMEN" overprint. Some São Tomé stamps lack the "Specimen" overprint. Regarding this overprint, James Bendon, in "UPU Specimen Stamps," page 31, states:It is suggested that this type hand stamp, SPECIMEN in italic, measuring 17 ½ x 2 ½ mm, with capital S, but without full stop (Type II), resembles so closely the Rhodesia type, was applied by the British South Africa Co authorities to mint stamps received from Berne, sheets are annotated ex:Berne.
