SPINK are delighted to present Part II of The ‘Dubois’ Collection of Jamaica Postal History and Stamps. This eagerly anticipated second instalment will not disappoint and includes World-Class rarities such as an outstanding example of the exceptionally rare and iconic 6d Abolition of Slavery and the unique multiple of the 1932 2d block of 4, horizontally imperforate between. Highlights:
  • Lot 100 - Ship Letter Handstamps. 1845 (21 Oct.) entire letter from Salem "via Philad by the first American vessel" to May Hill Post Office, rated "12" cents and "10" formed of 4d. half Ship Letter charge plus 6d. inland postage, showing Salem datestamp, "paid" handstamp, and "jamaica/ship letter" SL5 handstamp being the only example recorded in red.
  • Lot 426 - 1887 Essays. 2d. in purple and mauve with lettering and value highlighted in Chinese white, on card (30x33mm.)
  • Lot 549 - 1932 Pictorial Issue.   • Lot 669 - Incoming Mail. From Canada. 1867 (5 Sept.) envelope from Montreal to Malvern Post Office, bearing 1859 1c. rose vertical strip of three and 10c. purple vertical pair thrice cancelled with duplex of bars, St. Thomas (22.9), Kingston (4.6) and arrival (6.6) datestamps on reverse; edge faults though a remarkable and very rare franking of the 23c. via St. Thomas route.
