UNIQUE REDIRECTED COVER WITH TWO PLATE 6 1d BLACKS EACH WITH THE VERY SAME LETTERING (SF); 31 Jan. 1841 EL from Wells to Bath with Plate 6 1d Black (SF; partly removed upon redirection) cancelled by orange-red MX
with FINE "bath" cds on reverse; then forwarded back to Bath with a second 1d Black (also Plate 6 and SF; v. near 4m) placed sideways across the first 1d Black and tied by a light red MX with matching fine "WELLS/SOMERSET" cds on the front. The
mathematical chances of a 1d Black cover being forwarded with a second 1d Black with the very same corner letters and from the very same Plate as the first 1d Black are very slim; 240x12 [= 2,880] to one, but the vast majority of redirected 1d Black
covers were sent either unpaid (charged 1d on delivery) or were prepaid the redirection 1d in cash, so the chances are probably nearer to 2,880,000 to one! Probably a unique 1d Black cover. Cross Reference: SOMERSET, REDIRECTED AND TURNED
