304 cover imageEgyptian Post Office in Massawa, Ethiopia 1874/75: Bulâq 20 pa. grey-blue, a vertical pair used on 1875 cover addressed in devangari script to 'Bandar' (port) of Hodeida, Yemen, the adhesives tied by fine strike of "POSTE KHEDEVIE EGIZIANE / MASSAWA" circular datestamp (Gibbons type C) in black (Dec 15) with information strike alongside. Slight envelope corner fault well away from the adhesives but a cover of exceptional rarity. Cert. Todd AIEP (2017). Note: Just 10 genuine stamped covers are recorded with this Massawa datestamp. A similar cover to this example was in the William C. Hinde collection.
