Includes cards depicting balloons, from 1891 International Electromechanical Exhibition, 1894 souvenir card from the Lyon Exposition, 1896 National Swiss Exhibition, 1898 Austrian Jubilee Exhibition, 1907 "Daily Graphic" Expedition picture post card and others. The essay is an original accepted design on cardboard signed by designer and engraver A. Lavergne for a Czechoslovakia balloon stamp. There is a Die proof of the stamp and an unused example. Also, included is a page of more modern material with a card and three stamps. Additionally, two A3 size exhibition pages relating to Parachuting from Balloons, with 3 sunken die proofs signed by A.
