"LOCLE 3 MAI 66 VII", dieser nebenstehend. zus. mit schwarzem "P.P." im Kreis des IV. Postkreises (AW 313) nochmals wiederholt, auf frischem und vollständigem Faltbrief mit Leitvermerk "par Steamer Anglais de Southampton" an Alexandre Jaquet, "marchand horloger" in Buenos Aires, Argentinien. Rücks. Transitstp. "NEUCHATEL 3 MAI 66 9S" und vorders. Eingangsstp. "SUISSE / PONTARLIER 3 MAI 66" sowie "LONDON / A / PAID / 7 MY 66", letztere beiden in rot. Mit Fr. 1.30 für einen Brief unter französischer Leitung via Southampton nach der Ostküste Südamerikas noch gemäss dem alten Tarif vom 15. Dezember 1854 frankiert, während ab 1. Juli 1862 Fr. 1.10 als Bezahlung bis zum Landungshafen ausgereicht hätten. Ein attraktiver Südamerikabrief, befördert mit britischem Dampfer ab Southampton via Madeira, Teneriffa, St. Vincent, Pernambuco, Rio de Janeiro und Montevideo nach Buenos Aires. Signiert Moser, Atteste Berra (1994) und Guinand (2025). Schäfer: Argentinien=9/13 Punkten. Anmerkung: Der Uhrmacher Ulysse Nardin (1823-1876) machte sich 1846 in Le Locle selbstständig. Durch Kontakte zu seinem Bruder Jules, der sich in La Paz, Bolivien niedergelassen hatte, machte sich die Firma schnell einen Namen im Uhrenexport nach Südamerika. 90245 cover image1873: Balcarce 1 centavo purple, fresh colour and perforations mostly fine, tied by black cds “BUENOS AIRES” (date unclear), commercial cachet alongside in blue dated “ENE 1 1879” (1 Jan) to a printed circular sent to Antwerp, Belgium, with early type British “T” in black and manuscript “1”. Reverse, an unclear transit cds and “ANVERS4 FE 1878”. Light filing fold well clear of adhesive. Some short perforations and mild tone spots to tips. Rare single franking. 90247 cover image1879: Stationery postal card 6 centavos rose on buff, uprated with Moreno 1873, 4 centavos brown and Lopez 1877, 2 centavos green, fresh colour and fine perforations, tied by thimble cds “BUENOS AIRES FE 3 77”, sent to New South Wales, Australia, with handstruck “T” and “7D”, alongside partial French transit cds “7 FEVR 87”. Fine. Scarce example, Argentina to Australia, during this period is a rarity.Note: This card was annotated as being 35 centimes underpaid for the 60c letter rate. When the underpayment was doubled, it became a 70c charge equal to 7d, hence the NSW “7D” handstamp (Image 1) (Image 2)

Reverse, cds “ASUNCION 28 DIC 1904”. The picture inside has been signed (no message) under the misconception that it would go at printed matter rate. Fine. Scarce use of Paraguay's first postage due. The envelope somewhat roughly opened with edge wear at lower right and closed flap tear on reverse but rare and very fine Gi = £ 3'250 off cover.
