2007 cover image1777 (Aug 23), Castle of Moncalieri, Savoy: Autograph letter signed by Vittorio Emanuele I of Savoy (1759–1824), King of Sardinia and Duke of Savoy, addressed to Knight Ghilini in Vigevano. Countersigned by Count Gian-Andrea Giacinto Chiavarina di Rubiana, First Secretary of War of the Kingdom of Sardinia and later Superintendent of the Royal Archives. Accompanied by the original wax seal of the sovereign. In this decree, Vittorio Emanuele I informs Ghilini of the new assignment for the vacant position of General Commander of the right wing of the Cavalry Department, detailing the relocation and quartering of the Dragoni di Ciablese regiment under his brigade command. A rare early military document, combining royal signature, high-level countersignature, and intact seal—an exceptional piece for collectors of Savoy and Sardinian history.
