This is the only known letter with an endorsement related to the service of the D/S Bjørgvin on the Sognefjord. Note: The D/S Bjørgvin was bought in 1840 from England by a private consortium. It had only a 35 horsepower engine and sailed in the years 1848 until 1854 from late spring to early autumn of the year on the Bergen - Lærdal route along the Sognefjord. Not to be confused with the D/S Bjørgvin which made its journey along the west coast in the 1870s (Image 1) (Image 2) (Image 3)
